Read to a Dog
Read aloud to a quiet and friendly-trained therapy dog and their adult volunteer during this fun program. The patient attention these dogs offer helps beginning, struggling, or reluctant readers gain confidence and improve their reading skills. Readers can bring their own books from home or select from options offered by library staff. Your one-on-one session will be with 5-year-old German Shepherd, Teddy Bear. Please check in at least two minutes before your start time to ensure each reader gets their full 15-minute session in a timely manner. For children kindergarten through sixth grade. Registration for 15-minute time slot required.
